The more articles I write, the more I find myself digging into the past and realizing what amazing athletes were at Georgia Tech during my time there. Now even though GT is a major Division 1 school that competes in the mighty Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Tech only has 15 varsity sports teams. The 8 men’s teams and 7 women’s teams are fewer in numbers then most recognizable schools, and this is apparent when comparing Tech to fellow conference schools like Virginia and UNC. UVA has 23 varsity teams while UNC has 26 teams competing, but in the end I feel that GT takes a more narrow approach and makes sure all its teams are given the best in order to succeed.
